Mark and Christine welcome you to Bracken Bed and Breakfast in the most beautiful quaint village - Shieldaig - Scottish Highlands. We are situated on the waterfront looking directly out onto Shieldaig Island with magnificent dramatic landscapes which both amateur and professional photographers enjoy.

We have a local pub 200 yards away that serves lunches and evening meals. There is a local shop for your basic needs next door to the pub. No need to get in your car after a hard day driving for supper.


Inside Bracken Bed and Breakfast, we have three spacious comfortable bedrooms, two bedrooms; each have a kingsize bed with luxurious bedlinen and towels provided. Both of these rooms look directly out to Shieldaig Island with the most dreamy landscapes of mountains and sea.






The third bedroom is the twin room with two single beds, luxurious bedlinen and towels provided. This bedroom looks directly out to the back garden and croft, gently wakening you with a smile to the sweet baah'ing of the odd sheep.


We like to cater for our guests' individual requirements; we offer a wide ranging breakfasting menu including the famous traditional Scottish Breakfast, porridge, cereal, home made bread, toast, fruit salad or other favourites such as scrambled egg and Local Scottish Smoked Salmon. Don't hesitate to ask us for your requirements.




Whether your stay with us be action packed or 'peace and tranquility', get away from it all; you'll find that staying at Bracken Bed and Breakfast, Shieldaig is an excellent base for your holidays:

  • Walks to suit every level of fitness from climbing hills to gentle ambles
  • Wildlife abounds; you may see sea otters, seals, deer, pine martens and of course our resident Sea Eagles that nest on Shieldaig Island directly across from us; fab way to spend a few hours watching them fly above the island from your bedroom window or sitting on the sofa.
  • Deep sea fishing trips, sea kayaking, cycling and a tennis court too (- I can reserve the court for you for a minimun fee), all available in Shieldaig.
  • Unspoilt pebbly beaches around the walk to the Penisula, with breathtaking views out to Loch Torridon or Loch Shieldaig









Finding Bracken Bed and Breakfast is easy. We are positioned in the middle of the Main Street directly opposite from the cannon.











Our tarriff is £65 per room. Single supplement can be arranged, usually depending on what time of the year you wish to stay with us.

Should you wish to stay for more than three nights, we can arrange a discount, Children under 5 are not charged.

Bracken is equiped with WiFi and the broadband speed in Shieldaig is pretty good.
