THE OLD BYRE - ARRINA

The Old Byre is situated in the traditional crofting township of Arrina, on the Applecross coast road.

The view from the gate

On the South side of Loch Torridon there are stunning views of Beinn Alligin and Liathach beyond. Arrina is ten miles from Shieldaig and fifteen miles from Applecross, and only a short drive along the  road from Monty Halls' Beachcomber Cottage and the huge beach at 'Sand'

The Old Byre is a tastefully converted byre (cow shed) to the rear of the Old School. In years gone by it would have housed the teacher's cow. Facilities have improved immensely (!) and it now offers cosy and comfortable accommodation for two humans.

There are twin beds with electric blankets that can be put together if required. There's a dining table and fold-up chairs; easy chairs and a sofa; TV and radio. There is a shower room and toilet to one end, and a kitchen with fridge, oven/ hob/grill and all crockery and cutlery. All linen and towels are provided.

It is an ideal base for hillwalking, fishing, kayaking, cycling, birdwatching or just chilling out.

The tariff is £20 per person per night plus electricity used at 15p per unit.

There is a minimum 2 night stay.  It is not suitable for pets or children. If you wish to book or require any further information please contact
